**Please note this is not a remote position JOB SUMMARY: The Triage RN is expected to provide rapid assessment of the chief complaint supplied by the parent & provide early recognition of potentially life-threatening symptoms requiring EMS assistance. The triage nurse must be able to accurately define the symptom of concern & choose the appropriate guideline. The triage nurse must use critical thinking, in combination with the pediatric guidelines, to determine the direction of the child's care. The triage nurse must be able to provide direction in a clear, calm & concise manner & have the ability to work independently, when required. The triage nurse must be able to document accurately & completely, using the preformatted assessment screen. The triage nurse will maintain quality-assurance checks bi-monthly to ensure compliance with documentation standards. The triage nurse will assist in the training & development of new hire, registered nurses. The triage nurse will maintain productivity standards as defined by the policies & procedures in the unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree 2 years of experience California RN License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree 3 years of experience BLS for Health Providers (AHA) Bilingual - Spanish/English Prefer 1 year of experience working in pediatric/family practice or triage setting The current salary range for this position is $49.74 to $84.61 A candidate's placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
